Happy Half Birthday Roxy!!!

Our little angel Roxy was born six months ago today, and she's growing up fast.

I haven't blogged about her in a while, but this doesn't mean that I haven't taken any pics! My iPhone has Roxy all over it. For Halloween, Roxy was a princess. I found the costume last minute at Old Navy, I was not looking for a dog costume. John hates the costume, I liked it, and the trick or treaters loved it---I think even more so than the candy. Check out the pics below, not my best work, but not bad for trying to get the dog's attention and hold a camera at the same time. Enjoy!

Lauren & Ben's Wedding @ The Candlewood Inn

Lauren and Ben were married on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at St. John's Church in Mahopac, New York. The celebration followed at The Candlewood Inn in Brookfield, Connecticut. Pictures were taken at the Ethan Allan Hotel in Danbury, Connecticut. This was my second wedding for Lauren's family, her sister Noelle was married earlier this year.

Chelsea Lately's Interview with 50 Cent

Recently Chelsea Handler interviewed 50 Cent on her show, Chelsea Lately--I know I just blogged about this but I really wanted this clip in my blog and of course I find it after the fact. Anyways, it was one of my favorite interviews hers.' I hate to say it, but 50 Cent was nothing what I expected at all. I was expecting hard and cold, instead it was funny and warm!

Chelsea Lately (Chelsea Handler)

I am a big fan of Chelsea Handler, if anyone doesn't know who she is, you should watch her show, Chelsea Lately, on E! at 11pm EST on weekdays. I've also enjoyed her two books (that I believe I've previously blogged about), and would easily read them again and again just to laugh. She just puts it all out there and says it like she sees it. I didn't say it, she did.

Every show she has three comedians at her round table where they gossip about all the celebrity garbage news and it wraps up with a celebrity interview. Every now and then she'll have a skit, I've included one of my favorites below--but you'd really have to watch the show to get it (Guy is on staff and regularly participates at the round table--he's one of my favorites).

Anyways, if you want to laugh daily, tune in and enjoy!

Wedding Cinematography: Tom of Vantage Point Films

I recently met up with Tom of Vantage Point Films, Wedding and Event Cinematography. I've only had the chance to work with him once, but he really stands out in my mind because even though we didn't talk much that day, he was totally aware of me, a nice guy, and polite. This is HUGE. I've never been one to talk too much about video to my clients, but in all honesty if you want to do video and still for your wedding day ask your professionals so that everyone is on the same page and we're all working together.

Ben's (the groom) Point of View

Yesterday was Lauren and Ben's fabulous wedding at The Candlewood Inn in Brookfield, Connecticut. I have to share this story now, while it's fresh in my mind because I really appreciated it a lot--thanks Ben!!

Last night while I was saying goodbye to Ben, we were talking about the pictures and the day. Then he started to say something along the lines of..."I don't know if Lauren told you this, but I was really amazed by the engagement pictures. When you told me to lean up against the canoe, I didn't know what to expect." 

For their engagement session, we went to this little spot of land that Lauren's friend owns on a lake. I found this canoe leaning up against a chain link fence. From my perspective, it was looking out onto the lake and a gorgeous tree formed a frame around the lake. I saw this, got all excited like I do, and said, "Ben you're going to lean up against this canoe and Lauren just get close. Just look at each other." While I was seeing beautiful things happening, Ben's perspective was more like seeing a dirty canoe leaning up against a chain link fence.

I just couldn't have loved hearing this more, the more I thought about it in the parking lot, the more I loved the story--and of course I was yapping it all to Jeff. This is one of the reasons why people should do engagement sessions!! 

Through the engagement session I earned their trust. Where you might see a dirty canoe, I might see this....

Jeff & Mark's Wedding in Provincetown, Cape Cod, MA (Brass Key / Crowne Pointe)

Jeff and Mark were married Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the Brass Key in Provincetown, Cape Cod, MA. The celebration continued at the Crowne Pointe Historic Inn and Spa. It was a beautiful wedding: the couple, the location, and the food was so good!!

Jeff is my friend first and he is also an associate that works with me at weddings. He's been an amazing support system for me, and my business. Jeff is a one of a kind guy that I can not say enough about, Mark it doesn't get any better than Jeff!! Everybody needs a Jeffie!! I am so happy for the two of you!!

Kimberly & Gaetano's Wedding @ Saint Clements Castle (and Wear It Again Session @ Lyman Orchards)

Kimberly and Gaetano were married on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at Saint Clements Castle in Portland, Connecticut. Kimberly is a sister of one of my previous weddings, Amy (Amy and Kuthair). I know I've said this before, but I always love working with repeat families.

Kimberly and Gaetano were suppose to get married outside in the sunken garden (at Saint Clements). However it ended up raining, and well kind of snowing (hence really cold). Regardless of the weather outside the wedding was gorgeous.

Some of Kimberly and Gaetanos's vendors include: Jessica's Country Flowers, Mobile DJs, Harold's, and Valentino Tailors.

After the wedding, I sent Kimberly an email asking her how she would feel about getting dressed up again, and going out for another round of pics. I knew that getting married in the fall, amongst all of the color, was what they planned on and thought why not get it anyway! No it's not the day of their wedding, but it's within the month and the same year! We went to Lyman Orchards, which was absolutely perfect. I can not take credit for the location at all...my fabulous upcoming 2010 couple, Caren and Adam, can take all the credit--this is now one of my FAVORITE spots. Thank you sooo much Caren and Adam!!

Caren and Adam's Fall Engagement Session @ Lyman Orchards

I recently photographed my second engagement session with Caren and Adam (not my second ever, my second with Caren and Adam--click link to see other session, where a rainbow appeared!!). I just love this couple to pieces, and I can't tell you how thrilled I am about my discovery of Lyman Orchards through Caren and Adam. They like going there in the fall to pick apples, and when we were originally talking engagement session they couldn't decide what to do, fall or summer. Why not both?!

Caren knew exactly where to bring my at Lyman, I should have paid more attention when we were driving because my second trip there I missed the turn and had to call her!! She also got me the sweetest gifts, a bottle of her favorite Pinot Noir (La Crema - now my favorite too) and an awesome wedding planner/organizer!!! I love them both, and am so touched how thoughtful the gifts are.
