Jenn and Scott are getting married in October at The Society Room, a perfect location for the two of them since they met there. I had a chance to photograph them a couple weeks ago at Wickham Park in Manchester.

Eme's a Big Sister : Welcome Home Lauryn

My best friend Sarah has a new addition to the family, welcome Lauryn Elizabeth! Yes, this means my Godchild Emersyn is a big sister and from what I hear, she's doing her sisterly duties to the fullest!!

Business Cards : New Logo in the Works

This past January at a bridal show, I ran out of business cards. I haven't re-ordered the old design, as it's something that i've wanted to re-vamp a little bit. Pondering on the thought of new logo/cards, I have even possibly thought about hiring a designer to do the re-design or assist me. 

I'm a girl, I over think things, and I want to to be just so (perfect).

History on my first and only card: As some of you may know, I went to Hallmark Institute of Photography from 2004-2005. At Hallmark I created my very first and only (to date) logo/stationary. See below. While I was designing my stationary, my instructor told me the logo had a Kate Spade kind of feel to it. Ding! I love Kate Spade--simple, kind of preppy, yet modern.

Where I stand today: I'm sick of the boxes, but I want to keep simple and modern in mind. I like the idea of maybe going vertical on one side and horizontal on the other--not sure how to implement that.

Some visual thoughts....taking away the line, making the word photography less prominent, making the pink more raspberry than HOT.

I'm honestly designing more as I blog because I'm not loving this yet. Throwing another idea out there, what if the card was two sided? 

 
 

I'm stumped, mentally blocked, need a break. If anyone out there has ideas, feel free to share!
 

 Depending on the view of the computer, these jpegs should be close to the size of a business card - 3.5"x2"

Dear Alissa,

I've been on a high since our son Sean's wedding last weekend at the  

Lord Thompson Manor to his beautiful bride Tamara, but even more so  

since seeing your incredible photos.   I can relive every moment of  

the wedding through your camera lens; your photos don't just capture  

the images, but the true emotions of each moment.    I can't wait to  

put together our parent's album, but I truly don't know how I'm going

As the long awaited wedding day of Tamara and Sean finally arrived, I kept thinking that I didn't want the day to end as so many special memories were being created.  With the spectacular pictures that you and Jason were able to capture, those memories will now last a lifetime.  On behalf of Tamara and Sean's entire family, I cannot thank you enough for being such an important part of our day.  Your work is exceptional and we cannot wait to see more!

Tamara and Sean's Wedding @ Lord Thompson Manor

Tamara and Sean were married on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Lord Thompson Manor. It was a gorgeous spring day, perfect for a wedding! Tamara and Sean were so much fun to photograph, I knew it from the moment I met them at their engagement session. They're naturals in front of the camera!

Lord Thompson Manor (LTM) is one of my favorite locations to photograph--every where you look is the picture of perfection. Everyone who works there (from the owners to the parking attendants) is so gracious, and the service is exceptional. The Cottage is a sister property of LTM; I LOVE when the brides get ready there--everything is white and it makes the perfect high key background for a bride. I can't say enough about LTM.

This was the most bad @$$ entrance I've seen to date, LOVED IT!! The entire wedding party walked up the aisle, then you see this awesome vintage car roll up the driveway and we're waiting, and then on the other side of the property the car with bride appears. LOVED IT!! Jason got this capture below (the higher angles), he was worried about the sun spots-I think they're pretty fantastic (more drama!).
    

This was my vantage point, the lower level. I love the sunlight in Tamara's veils (yes veils, she had on two and it worked out perfect for pictures), stunning!

We did a few spots for night pictures, it was timed perfectly. I have to admit, I sweated it out through the first dance, parent dances, and cake cutting....carefully keeping and eye on that blue sky!
