I first heard the news via text from my best friend Sarah. I didn't believe it, Michael Jackson dead?
Michael Jackson was for sure my first musician that I loved. My sister Alison (Ali for short) and I had the Thriller on record, which played on our Fisher Price record player. One of my first memories includes us fighting over the record (my sister and I), and unfortunately ruining it. I also remember being scared to watch the Thriller video, and hiding underneath the blanket while Ali watched on.
There is a TON of coverage out on the internet, I just felt the need to share what I could remember of my very early childhood and Michael.
I feel the need to include some of my favorites;
Rock with You-I love this video!!! It's the light combo with the sparkly clothing
The Way You Make Me Feel - Tell me you could sit still though listening to this song, I don't think it's possible.
P.Y.T - I didn't appreciate this song until I was a little older, it is a fabulous jam.
Scream - featuring Janet Jackson, at the time I was a huge Janet fan and super psyched about the collaboration.
I'm so excited, I just got my NKOTB tickets for their September 30th performance at the Mohegan Sun!! Who's coming with me--other than my best friend Sarah who saw them with me originally at Lake Compounce, her husband Barry, and my boyfriend John? My good friend Jodi and her gal pal Katie are going and the wonderfully talented Jennifer Bromley (also of Silk Waxing Spa) should be going too--girl did you get your tickets?
Is anyone else going? I'm so excited, I can't wait!
Oh, how I love to reminisce of my youth. What I'm about to share with you brings back many found memories of stone washed jeans, jelly bracelets, “hot” colors, big hair, and kickball at recess...I recently found out that the New Kids on the Block (later known as NKOTB) are going to have a reunion tour--okay I totally just giggled! :) My favorite was Joey, I asked Jeff today and he confessed to liking Donnie!
I was in third grade I saw them OPEN for Tiffany at Lake Compounce. Now I wouldn’t mind seeing Tiffany open for them, or even better Color Me Bad (CMB) open for the old new kids. As a side note; I still have somewhere my VHS taping of 90210 featuring CMB.
Pictures from NKOTB website. Yes, I went overboard with the paraphernalia, but that's what fans do, right? The song Cover Girl (video below) use to be one of my favorites.
I thought it would be fun to put together all of my blogged wedding images from my photographed weddings in one location. I think it could be a great reference for ideas.
